DEFINITION

WILLY NILLY means: without direction or planning…it happens whether you like it or not!

PICTURE 1

Willy & Nilly are out with their parents - Peter and Pippa. Peter and Pippa are Pointers, and Willy & Nilly are puppy Pointer brothers. Willy is older and taller, and Nilly still has some of his puppy fat.

Peter and Pippa drag Willy & Nilly to yet another exhibition. This time it is an art gallery featuring paintings by the well-known artist, Vizsla van Ruff.

“We don’t want to go to the gallery,” protest Willy & Nilly, “it’s boring!”

“You have no choice in the matter!” responds Peter.

“You have to come, Willy & Nilly,” replies Pippa, “you’ll learn something.”

PICTURE 2

Willy & Nilly walk slowly behind Peter and Pippa and slope from one painting to another.

Peter and Pippa point to a picture of purple pansies - a picture of purple pansies, Peter and Pippa point!

“Come and see, Willy & Nilly,” beckons Peter, “van Ruff painted these flowers for his Dutch master.”

“They just look like purple flowers to me,” bores Willy.

“Yeah,” yawns Nilly, “a bunch of flowers in a vase!”
