A wonderful story for a boy who likes to dance

June 1, 2014 Maggie F.

An absorbing, fun, bedtime story while treating the subject with sensitivity. The illustrations are well chosen and appropriate to the story. Jason learns that dancing can give joy to the dancer and to people who see the dancing as well.

Chapter One - The Play

The applause was almost deafening as everyone was cheering. “Encore, encore,” the crowd was yelling out while others were whistling. The entire cast had now come out onto the stage and they were taking a bow for their performance. There were almost twenty in all, with their beautiful costumes.

The two main dancers were standing in the middle of the stage, and each of them had a large bouquet of flowers in their hands. They were throwing kisses at the audience as they smiled and waved back. People were standing up now, applauding and yelling for the actors and dancers.

Jason was getting scared. “Mommy,” he said as he looked up holding his ears, “too loud!” He hoped they would stop.

“It’s all right, honey,” Mom said as she bent down to pick up her frightened son. “Did you like the show?”

“It was awesome, Mom, really.” Jason nodded his head in agreement.
