Paddles the Penguin

One day at the South Pole, a penguin chick hatched from an egg.

“My name is Paddles,” he peeped to a big penguin. “Are you my mom?”

“I’m your dad, little chick,” replied the big penguin. “Your mother has gone fishing!”

“I’ll find her and tell her I’m here,” Paddles said, and he dove into the water.

Paddles saw a big fish swimming nearby.

“Hello,” he called, “my name is Paddles! Are you my mom?”

The creature replied, “No, I am a shark, and I like to chase penguins!”
